DFAC Christmas Dinner, Part II

Wanted to add some of the watermelon carvings and other DFAC Christmas sights:

Dining Facillity Christmas Dinner

Christmas Dinner was pretty much a ditto of Thanksgiving with different decorations. They go all out to be sure. Nativity scenes, gingerbread houses, Rudolph made of fruit loops were all present, plus watermelon carvings--we ate them the next day! Food was everything you could imagine, plus some.

Christmastime in the 86 CSH

This is actually my office. My little desk in inside the door to the left. You can see the edge of it. I am like the secretary. This is my good friend, Jim Cahill.
Holy Joe's Cafe--Coffee source for the CSH. This is on the way to my office. Chaplain is a good friend who I have breakfast with every day.
Pharmacy in Arabic...
Chapel. We have our services here. This is my favorite place of the whole week.

The entire inside walls of the CSH are dry eraser board. SO, with each holiday and especially during the night shift, the artists are about filling the night shift slow time with creations. I took pictures of the collective creations for the Christmas Season...CSH= Combat Support Hospital, but is pronounced CASH. Santa Claus visited also to pass out stockings and goodies to all the CSH personnel. Very nice time of year fraught with many calories from well-wishers in the states!

Gimsbach Church

Our wonderful Church in Gimsbach from 1747. It is the oldest building in town and has a wonderful old organ in it. We go once a year to a church service here--pretty much as often as the rest of the town too!
