Chicken Coop
This is Erik's creation. He took it from a literal chicken coop to a dog house to his house. He has heat, lights and has moved in. He slept there last night and it is very warm. We are very proud of his work and are very ready to have him start in the attic, which was the secret plan all along--let him learn in the chicken coop, then put him to work in the attic!!

Job Shadow 2008
Feb 2 is job shadow day for the kids at school so this year Anneliese came to work with Rich and I , we were both working on Thursday night so she came and spent the night -12 hours- in Labor and del. 
Another nurse brought her daughter who is 12 and they had a great time being our "shadows" for the night. They did get to see one baby born, I'm not sure what she thought of that, we all kept saying "wasn't that great!" and the response was pretty mediocre. She had to do a long interview and paper, so she took Rich aside and interviewed him, he gave up and refused to answer any more questions after quite a long while! He did tell her that he had to read at "genius" level for his job and use a computer continually.
Here's the good doctor hard at work, and here are the girls trying all the surgical garb. They also blew up a few gloves and had a good time with those! (I'm not sure what she is doing with them in this picture!) The day before Erik told me that no one at the high school does job shadow day- but the next morning he called me and said that no one would be at school and he was going to stay home and shadow us. We were all going home to sleep- of course he wants to shadow us now! I made him go to school, it was a good try but he didn't get too far with that one!
In other news Rich fell while skiing in Switzerland a couple of weeks ago and hurt his shoulder, he has a MRI scheduled for next week. He can't raise his arm up too well so we are worried about a rotator cuff injury which would mean surgery. (Rich would not tolerate that too well) Hope it's not that! He is sure it's nothing but we'll see.
Anne and I are going to the gym 3 days a week and working out, we'll have to post pictures of that later. We are going right after school and there is nover anyone there,which I like alot! We decided we have to get in shape for the wedding. We'll post the after pictures of our great results!
