Halloween Party

Jack has discovered he can watch the neighbor dog from here. Note his cute pumpkin outfit!

Halloween- We had a progressive Halloween dinner for the youth and our house was the final stop for dessert and a haunted house. We have a really scarie basement that was just waiting for
haunting. Erik and one of his buddies did the set up with alot of fake cobwebs added to the real ones. They also made a graveyard in the backyard, so we started in the yard telling a story about the dancehall and a dancehall murderer in years past that murdered women and buried them in the yard. Our Bishop was the grim reaper running thru the crowd screaming as I was telling them stories, he has our old scythe in hand and was pretty scarie. His son was a ghost wandering around.

Here's Erik with the chain saw , this was the final stop on the way out of the basement- I think this is where the girls started crying (only 3 of them, but it made the boys call the whole thing a sucess) We also had a crazed Dr with a person on his surgical table and he was taking out body parts and eating them and offering the kids a bite, they went thru a good amount of wurst! The night was a huge sucess. Rich was on call and happy to miss the whole thing. Jack was very concerned about the ghosts out in the yard and had to go bark at them everytime he went out. Here are pictures of the haunted house and yard. The clean up is almost done, just a graveyard to dismantle. Everyone thinks we have the perfect house for Halloween, the basement is still scarie even after the clean up!
Rich and Erik are doing another marathon this weekend. Erik is really getting a strong start wiht 3 marathons in 6 weeks. Anne and I are going to do a walk while they run thru the woods, maybe we'll get a medal this time too!

Hi Jacksons!
We found your blog through your 50by 50 blog. It's great to see some of the things you're doing!
I heard Annalise play her violin from the clip. She sounded beautiful and in tune! She had a nice tone! I read somewhere that she might quit. Please keep it up! You are developing a great talent! (My sisters still regret that they quit!)
We enjoyed seeing you at Stephanie's wedding. It was a fun time.

Wow that looks like a very scary haunted house. What a fun thing to do. I bet everyone will remember that and you will be doing it again next year. We needed you at our halloween party. It looks lame compared to that. Glad you are having fun. I saw Katie today on our way home from Washington. You have the cutest granddaughter. She was so cute and let me hold her and everything. It was great to see Katie and they have a fun little house. They have done a great job with it and it looks very homey.
